Oh cool, I actually found this soon after it was uploaded!
I think your shading is really nice here, especially the way you've got sharp lines between areas of shading and non-shading in some areas, but in other places you use a more gradual approach. I found an FAQ on one of your older journals that mentioned using a multiply layer and an eraser, and that's helped me improve a lot with my own art. I always used to do pure black shading with varying opacity, and then I found out about color shading from Silky and started to notice it in a lot of drawings that I liked.
"take a shower shine your shoes you've got no time to lose" /totally still listening to your tumblr playlist, it's great! Life in Technicolor is wonderful, plus others like Boats & Birds and On My Way (that one from Ice Age I think)
Also, the use of thick/thin lineart changes in this give it a more natural appearance than what I've been able to do with single thickness lineart. I think I should try that in my next artwork. But yeah, my favorite part in all of this would be the way you did pretty evocative expressions while keeping a good deal of realism in the face anatomy (well I'm not an expert but it looks really good!). Last frame- awesome "WHAT :C" face, it's great!
And I read through some of your tumblr posts... "dark, unforgiving past"... well, I for one think that your popularity on dA came from the vision and quality of your art. When I found your account in that time period, I knew I wanted to follow your art and maybe join dA if I could ever learn to draw fursonas that well. So I practiced every day- I'm glad to be where I am now, and I have to credit you for a lot of the inspiration! Your tumblr is amazing, too.
